Drug maker Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. said Tuesday that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has completed its inspection of the drug maker's Davie, Fla., manufacturing plant, which has been under scrutiny for several years.

As a result, abbreviated new drug applications for products manufactured at this site are now eligible for FDA approval.

The plant has been subject to a new-product hold by the FDA since 2005. During that time, the FDA would not approve any new drugs manufactured at the site.

Watson said it has continued to file new-drug applications during the probe and is now working with FDA to obtain approval of eligible drugs.
