APIC and ECA To Collaborate on API Advancement
Posted on 2007-04-05 14:32:00
The Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients Committee (APIC) and the European Compliance Academy (ECA) announced a cooperation agreement for supporting and developing each other’s activities and thereby advancing the API industry.
APIC advances and promotes the interests of European companies manufacturing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and intermediates for APIs. The ECA’s ambition is to support the Pharmaceutical Industry and Regulators in their endeavour to harmonise GMP and regulatory guidelines by providing information and interpretation of new or updated guidances.
The goal of the agreement is to bundle the strengths of the two organisations’ respective areas and to maximise the benefit for the potential target audience in the industry with their activities and conferences. APIC will be able to take advantage of ECA´s well established links with universities, interest groups and other industry associations. The two organisations also agreed to discuss specific aspects of interest to the API industry, hence enabling the European Compliance Academy to develop enhanced and specific advanced training concepts for the European API industry. ECA will promote a wide range of materials and information on events developed by APIC and its member companies. Both parties also consented to keep each other and its members informed about developments of mutual interest and benefit. To support the alliance the organisations also agreed to grant discounts to their members for attending each other’s conferences.
