Teva: FDA approves generic Dostinex tablets

Teva said Thursday the Food and Drug Administration has approved its abbreviated new drug application for cabergoline tablets, the generic equivalent of Pharmacia & Upjohn's Dostinex. Shipment of the product, which is indicated for the treatment of hyperprolactinemic disorders, will begin immediately, the Israeli pharmaceutical company said. Total annual sales of this product in the United States, including brand and generic sales, are about $74 million, based on IMS sales data, Teva noted.
