Gilead said Milligan will continue to serve as chief financial officer until a successor is found.
It said Bischofberger will oversee all aspects of its R&D, including Gilead's recently acquired Seattle, Wash., and Westminster, Colo., programs in the fields of respiratory and cardiopulmonary therapeutics and the company's Edmonton, Alberta operations.
